Jarq reviews

Jarq is a macOS menu-bar app that lets you act on text right where your cursor is, in any app: translate, shorten, fix or rewrite the selected text in place, and dictate finished text straight into whatever field you are already in. No copy-paste, no switching tabs.

Whose page this is. It is run by Birzhan Abishev, who makes Jarq — not by anyone independent of it. Every review here is from a real person, published with their permission, in their own words. Nothing in them is changed, except that a voice message is transcribed with the filler words left out. When a review was first said in public, it links there; when it was said in another language, our translation is under the original and marked as ours; anything that ties a reviewer to Jarq beyond using it is said on their review.

Translated from Russian

I really love the app because I no longer have to open a translator in Google or somewhere else every time. I'd tried several apps that work as a translator on the Mac and installed them a few times, but they were all awkward: they lagged or gave poor translations. What's great about Jarq is that I can just select text and instantly get a translation of the word I need — or even write text in one language and get it in another. It's really cool and convenient, fast, takes no effort at all, and I absolutely love it.

By the way, the translation comes out very natural — not rigidly structured or stiff, but in exactly the form I dictate my sentence in, the way I build my speech. And the translation comes out in roughly the same style.
